Oprah Winfrey tops Forbes Celebrity 100 list
The magazine's Web site says O scored $275 million last year, despite slowing momentum for her show. They're obviously excited about her partnerships with Discovery Communications and XM Satellite Radio, though, giving her the top spot in the power ranking despite only being second in total payouts.
Following her are Tiger Woods; Angelina Jolie (who beats out Brad Pitt, who's No. 10); Beyonce Knowles (who edges her hubby Jay-Z, who's No. 7); the L.A. Galaxy's new moneymaker David Beckham; Johnny Depp; The Police, now that they've been on tour and charged way too much for seats that dummies paid for; and J.K. Rowling, raking in a top pay total of $300 million with her Harry Potter empire.
Meanwhile, the yoots are a big deal, with Miley Cyrus (35), Daniel Radcliffe (64), Zac Efron (92) and Ashley Tisdale (94) all cracking the century club. The list is decided by compiling earnings, Web hits, and press and TV mentions, multiplying it by 3.14, having an alchemist say an incantation over it and then picking names out of hat.
