Ozzy Osbourne owes the IRS $1.7 million, may lose house
It's a week until Tax Day, and it's a good thing for celebrities we get an extra couple days this year. That still won't help Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, however, since they owe the government more than $1.7 million in back taxes.
The former rocker and his wife, who have made an empire out of incoherent jabbering and manic, fish-out-of-water reality shows, owe $718,948 from 2008, and $1.024 million from 2009, Financial-Planning.com reports. The website says the IRS has placed a lien on their L.A. home, so they'd better come up with a plan soon.
"You can't rely on anyone but yourself. You have to be on top of your own business affairs. My fault........lesson learned," Sharon, 58, wrote on her Twitter page, @MrsSOsbourne on Friday. Ooooo, we can't wait to see which business manager gets sued over this one. Hopefully it's the same guy Nicolas Cage is blaming, so we have a new Hollywood scapegoat on our hands.
