PARIS UNDER SIEGE: DAY 3
How is our favorite unmoving target doing? Well, besides dodging staph infections at an L.A. jail — the Drudge Report says 402 inmates were stricken at Century Regional Detention Center last year — Paris Hilton had to hear the unfortunate news that her younger brother Barron was mugged at knifepoint outside New York’s Penn Station.
The New York Post says the 18-year-old and five friends had been spending the evening trying to sneak into Stereo on West 29th, but left around 4 a.m. Ironically, two security guards from the same club saw two muggers confronting Barron’s group.
“One guy had Barron at knifepoint, and the guards got out and chased away the guy with the knife,” a witness said. “The attackers didn’t get any money.”
The Post also reports that Paris may have agreed to her first post-jail interview, starting with Barbara Walters and 20/20. No doubt she’ll regale us all with tales of being weepy eyed and sleepless, as the Post defines her condition.
They quote lawyer Paul Cohen, who is representing two murder suspects held in the same area where Hilton is hiding out.
“They can hear her crying a bit,” Cohen told the paper. “She came out of her cell to make a phone call. She’s not used to making collect calls and she needed help. A sergeant had to help her.”
TMZ says the cell-ebutard has eaten almost nothing and is being taunted by other inmates through a tempered glass barrier, although all the guards are being extra nice. The jail also added a soda machine to a common area, just as Hilton arrived, and has had to turn away flowers and fruit baskets.
But the biggest sign of special treatment? “Paris didn’t have to go through the cavity search. When bent over, she didn’t have to cough,” said Saul Reyes, a maintenance worker at the women’s jail. “She didn’t have to spread ‘em.” We’ll leave the comments up to you this time.
