Patrick Dempsey says he's leaving 'Grey's Anatomy'
It looks like Grey's Anatomy fans just may finally get rid of all this ridiculous Meredith-Derek drama after next season, because Patrick Dempsey says he's done after one more round. Too bad they just adopted that cute African girl Zola.
"It will be my last," Dempsey told Italian Vanity Fair about next season. "I don't know what will happen with the other characters, but for me, it's done." He noted the move is "bittersweet because it's been a great part of my life. But I can't see me doing it anymore."
The 45-year-old's publicist, however, jumped on that news like a frog on a hotplate, telling Entertainment Weekly: "He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds." Ellen Pompeo was making similar statements, too, which leads us to believe the contract brinksmanship has already begun. Is there a way to get rid of her and keep him? She's the only character we don't like.
