A court ruled that Heather deserves $33 million in cash, plus $15.6 million worth of assets she currently holds, the AP reports. She also gets $70,000 annually plus nanny and school fees for the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Beatrice.

"I'm so, so happy with this," Mills told reporters. "I'm so glad it's over. It was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and my daughter's future and that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with -- because you know it has been my life for 20 years." Not that she's given to self-promotion or anything.

McCartney had no comment, as he was likely looking forward to getting on with his life. The $48.6 million figure was reached after Judge Hugh Bennett found the sum of Macca's assets totalled $800 million, a far cry from the $1.6 billion that had been estimated when McCartney and Mills went to court.

McCartney had been offering her $31.6 million; She was seeking almost $250 million. But since Mills fired her legal team, she's just got that much more money to go around.

"All of you that have researched know that it was always going to be a figure between 20 and 30 million (pounds)," Mills said (multiply by 2 to get dollars) "Paul was offering a lot less than that, which you'll see in the judgment, and very much last minute to put me and Beatrice sadly through this ... incredibly sad."

Even sadder? Heather can't just be happy with the money -- she's appealed to prevent publications of the settlement's details. We're sure it's because she's concerned about sparing her daughter's feelings.
