Paula Abdul returns to TV on 'Got to Dance'

Tbd-paulaabdul052510 All you Paula Abdul fans are getting your wish: The hot mess is returning to the airwaves on a prime time series on CBS. Doing what? Why, being a judge on a talent contest, natch.

Abdul will be lead judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor and coach on the U.S. port of British series Got to Dance, the Hollywood Reporter says. At least it's a change from judging singing, for which she wasn't qualified, anyway. Oh come on, like Cold Hearted was some great touchstone of Western culture.

Besides, this is different from American Idol. On Idol, sub-24-year-olds sing for a national audience in front of a panel of judges, with viewers getting to vote for their favorites. On Got to Dance, contestants of all ages dance for a national audience in front of a panel of judges, with viewers getting to vote for their favorites. See how that works?
