Paz de la Huerta won't be back on 'Boardwalk Empire'
It doesn't look like Lucy Danziger is ever going to return from that formula run, because Boardwalk Empire honchos declined to pick up actress Paz de la Huerta's contract for a third season, TVLine.com reports. Michael Shannon is really going to have his hands full later this year, it sounds like.
While Michel Pitt, Dabney Coleman and Aleksa Palladino were all killed in the Season 2 finale (oops, spoiler alert), de la Huerta's character will simply never be seen again, likely leaving her baby with Shannon's Van Alden. Steve Buscemi's Nucky is probably glad to have that problem off his chest.
Meanwhile, new characters are on the way, the website reports. One of the big ones will be Bobby Cannavale, who will be occupying Nucky's time, it sounds like. That's good, because the way Paz boozed it up (yammering about plotlines at parties and whatnot), you've got to think the producers are ready for some more traditional conflicts.
