Perez Hilton losing ads over Miley Cyrus mess
If you've been wondering whether gossip blogger Perez Hilton would be getting into any trouble for posting an upskirt photo of a commando Miley Cyrus on his blog, well, he's now being hit where it hurts: Yep, right in the ad revenue.
ABC Daytime confirmed to The Scoop that it had pulled its rotating banner ad for The View from Hilton's website, although MTV hadn't yanked TV Land ads as previously rumored.
“It’s not a matter of whether you like (Perez) or not, it has to do with the morality of the issue," an ABC source told The Scoop. "Miley is a minor, period. There are ethics involved in running an ad on a site that potentially violated the rights of a minor, and that is what the conversation is about at the network level."
It doesn't look like Hilton, a.k.a. Mario Lavandeira, will face legal action, though. He has been denying the incident's a problem, saying it was a Photoshopped image and that Cyrus actually was wearing underwear. That doesn't explain why he posted it on Twitter and then later retracted it; Either he's a child pornographer or he's got a terrible sense of humor. Or both.
