PETA slams Jessica Simpson's plans for pet pig
Because the only thing Jessica Simpson is good for anymore is giving John Mayer things to say and amusing us to no end, it seems PETA's all angry at her for her plans to get a pet piglet. If she was still in her mom jeans-wearing stage, we'd have all sorts of directions to take this.
"I'm thinking about getting a pet pig," the 28-year-old tweeted from @JessicaSimpson. She must be looking for a replacement for Daisy, the dog that was dragged away by a coyote back in September. "Does this mean I'll have to give up pork?"
No, but it does mean animal activists will be on your case: "Pigs, who are smarter than dogs and every bit as sensitive to pain and stress, don't belong in Jessica's stomach or carted around as her latest accessory," a PETA rep told Us magazine. Obviously none of these PETA folks have ever been on a farm, where prize pets often end up on the dinner table. What, you think that bacon grows on trees?
