The Philippines wants to ban Justin Bieber over Manny Pacquaio
It seems the Philippines really can't take a joke, because they've threatened to ban Justin Bieber from visiting because he made fun of Filipino boxer Manny Pacquaio. Well, maybe Manny shouldn't get knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez, like he was earlier this month.
The U.K.'s Telegraph said the country's Congress took exception to Bieber posting two Photoshopped images to his Instagram account -- one showing Simba from The Lion King trying unsuccessfully to rouse an unconscious Pacquaio and another of him doing Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal gangster lean. Seven lawmakers introduced a resolution saying the Biebes should apologize or face the possibility of not being allowed into the country.
"Mr Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm belief in God, and despite such stature best exemplifies humility and grace even in defeat," the resolution read.Manny even released a statement saying he would pray for the singer.
Bieber apparently responded over Twitter, saying, "If they were Beliebers I know they wouldn't leave my side over (a) boxing opinion I have."So the tour next year isn't going to Manila, we take it.
