Piers Morgan probably will replace Larry King

We've been waiting with bated breath since Larry King announced his retirement to find out who will replace him, but it looks almost certain that Piers Morgan is being tapped for the job. Because when we think serious journalism, we think of the judges on America's Got Talent. hey, he does the British version, too.

The says there have been plenty of talks, but getting Morgan out of his current committments, which include British TV specials and a column for the U.K.'s Daily Mail, is the big problem. That likely won't be a big deal, as it was Talent producer Simon Cowell who helped get Piers this far to begin with.

Meanwhile, CNN has announced Rick Sanchez will take over the 8 p.m. slot temporarily until a new show with Kathleen Parker and Eliot Spitzer starts in the fall, replacing Campbell Brown. Who's making the programming decisions over at CNN, the suits at NBC?
