Pitt related to Obama, Jolie to Clinton
Researchers at the New England Historic Genealogical Society have discovered that Angelina Jolie and Hillary Clinton are ninth cousins, twice removed, by way of Jean Cusson, who died in St. Sulpice, Quebec, in 1718, the AP reports. That means Clinton, who is of French-Canadian descent on her mother's side, has another celebrity to add to the Thanksgiving table; she's also a distant cousin to Madonna, Celine Dion, Alanis Morrissette and Prince Charles' wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles. Jack Kerouac, also a cousin, obviously won't be showing up.
But let's not leave out Brad Pitt. Turns out Angie's boyfriend is a ninth cousin to Barack Obama! They both can trace their lineage back to Edwin Hickman, who died in Virginia in 1769. Obama's background is a little more political, with ties to President Bush and his dad, H.W., Gerald Ford, Lyndon Johnson, Harry Truman, James Madison, Dick Cheney, Sir Winston Churchill and Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, of all people.
All that is much more impressive than John McCain being a sixth cousin to First Lady Laura Bush. We wonder how Brangelina voted in the primaries.
