Tbd-paulasladewski011110 The body of Paula Sladewski, a 26-year-old woman who once posed for Playboy, was found "burned beyond recognition" in a North Miami trash bin last Sunday, CNN reports.

The body was identified Wednesday, leading police to ask the public for help finding the killer.

"It's so horrific. They'd have to be a monster. It's a dastardly act," North Miami police spokesman Lt. Neal Cuevas told CNN. "It's the most heinous thing that a person can do to another person."

Sladewski, who was featured in the 2003 video Playboy: The Ultimate Playmate Search, was in Miami over New Year's weekend with her boyfriend to celebrate. They arrived on Dec. 31 to watch Lady Gaga perform. Sladewski and the boyfriend, identified by the New York Post as 34-year-old Kevin Klym, went to Club Space on Saturday and argued, resulting in the boyfriend being thrown out. Sladewski decided to stay; it was the last time he had seen her, he told police.

The Post adds that at one point in their apparently tumultuous relationship, Sladewski sent a text message about Klym that read, "He's trying to kill me," according to Paula's stepfather, Richard Watkins.

"They had a horrible relationship," Watkins told FoxNews.com. "I have told them from the start that they shouldn't be together."
