Project Runway's Kenley Collins attacks fiance with pet cat
Fans of Project Runway already knew that former finalist Kenley Collins was a wack job after she constantly sparred with Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum. But now the 26-year-old designer has been charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon while allegedly attacking her former fiance. The weapon? A cat.
The New York Post says that about 7 a.m.Wednesday Collins approached Zak Penley, who was sleeping in their apartment in Brooklyn, and tossed one of their cats -- either Arlo or Sandra, it's not clear which -- at the 28-year-old. We give all due respect to the Post for writing that was when "the fur began to fly."
As Penley fell and crawled on the floor, she hurled her laptop at him, then allegedly slammed a door on his head, threw water on him and lobbed three apples in his direction, shouting "you're lucky, it could have been worse." Yeah, he could have actually married her.
"It was a miscommunication," Kenley told the Post after her release from Brooklyn Supreme Court. "Fights happen, and that's that."
The couple were due to be hitched in October, but that obviously isn't happening now. Animal control says if the weapon involved wasn't hurt, there will be no animal cruelty charges, although living with Kenley is obviously bad enough.
"Zak blew this out of proportion in the police report," she said. "It was a break-up that went badly. He got what he wanted. I broke up with him. I just thought that we weren't ready to get married."
Whatever would give him that idea? On the bright side, the Post points out, she won't have to change her name to Kenley Penley.
