Rachael Ray not sorry about donuts, racy pics
As much as some of you hate Rachael Ray (we've got the e-mail to prove it), the tiny cook doesn't care, because she's doing what she thinks is right, she says on a Nightline interview scheduled to run tonight. Take that, Anthony Bourdain!
It was Bourdain who said her deal with Dunkin' Donuts was "like peddling crack to kids," to which Ray told Cynthia McFadden: I absolutely love Tony Bourdain. It's a free country." Wow, such harsh words.
"They came to me and they said, 'We want to make healthier food for America. You drink a lot of coffee. You grew up on Dunkin' Donuts. Have a cup of Dunkin' Donuts on us,'" she said. "They gave their support and their money to Yum-o (her child charity). They've been very supportive of me. I don't regret a thing. Not for a minute."
You what else she doesn't regret? Those racy photos of her that appeared in FHM. You know the ones we mean -- the ones where she wore a bra and apron and covered herself in chocolate and so on.
"I think I was 35 at the time, and I thought about it for a while, and I said, 'You know what? This magazine has as young as 17-, 18-year-olds in hottie bikinis, and these are all actresses, models, pin-up girls. I don't belong to any even remote club of theirs,'" she said. "And I thought, 'If I'm gutsy enough to do this, this is a good thing for everybody. This is the everywoman, here she is.' And I did it, and it was the most scared I've ever been, and I wouldn't change a thing. I'd do it again tomorrow."
Actually, in the age of having to apologize if you even look at someone cross-eyed, The Juice* has to respect that. But we're still going to laugh about it.
