Randy Quaid and his wife miss another court hearing
On a very slow news day, Randy Quaid's legal troubles have managed to make our page, since he and his wife Evi once again didn't appear in a courtroom when ordered. Maybe if you told them there were free PBRs and chicken wings, they'd think about it.
Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Donna Geck did not set a new court date after the couple failed to appear on vandalism charges Tuesday, instead leaving their arrest warrants active, the AP reports. It's just as well, since they would probably ignore the new date, as well. The hearing was continued until Dec. 28 because the couple hadn't been served.
Randy's attorney, Robert Sanger, said they couldn't show up because Canadian authorities took the actor's passport when he and Evi fled to our northern neighbor for asylum. Geck didn't take that excuse very well, saying he'd had "multiple occasions to appear" on charges they did $5,000 worth of damages to a guesthouse of a home they once owned and were squatting in when they were arrested in September. It makes us wonder where, exactly, they're hiding out in Canada.
