Randy Quaid, wife Evi got thrown in jail over hotel bill
Once again Randy and Evi Quaid are in trouble with the law, ending up in a Santa Barbara, Calif., jail for missing several hearings on their felony charge for skipping out on a $10,000 hotel bill. Wait, they weren't in jail already?
Superior Court Judge Frank Ochoa tossed the pair in the clink for being a bit rude about the whole thing: "They came to court this morning hoping that Judge Ochoa would forgive them for not showing up a couple weeks ago, but the judge said they showed disrespect by prior failures to appear and by flashing Randy's Golden Globe award in court the last time around," Santa Barbara DA Arnie Tolks told People Monday. "They both apologized to the court, but the judge obviously didn't take it lightly."
How heavy-handed was hi honor? He set bail at $100,000 bail each, which both paid to leave the cooler after three hours. They've also since paid the tab at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, but they've still got a date in the courtroom. Next time, try the Motel 6.
