Rashida Jones apologizes for telling John Travolta to come out of the closet
While she's busy waiting for the lead role in a Hollywood biopic of Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones (no relation), Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones speculated in an interview that perhaps it was time for John Travolta come out of the closet. Hoo boy. It don't matter how many Emmys you're a part of, your foot will always fit in your mouth.
Rashida was telling an interviewer for SpinningPlatters.com that a big movie star needs to announce he's gay in order to really shake up the media, because people like Anderson Cooper and Frank Ocean simply weren't that surprising. So, she suggested Travolta was that big star. "A movie star. Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let's do this," she said.
While it may not be the most controversial opinion to have about Travolta, given all the lawsuits he's been facing, she must have realized he could end her in a half-dozen ways, so she tweeted an apology via @iamrashidajones. "Made a thoughtless comment about John Travolta. I sincerely apologize. Nobody's personal life is my business." Well, maybe Lolo, so you can find out if you're related somehow.
