The Riddler won't be villain in 'The Dark Knight Rises,' Christopher Nolan reveals
Normally Christopher Nolan's lips are tighter than a snare drum when discussing his movies, but he's finally spilled some beans about the next Batman flick, Revealing that it's called The Dark Knight Rises. The good news: The main villain won't be The Riddler. The bad news: The team really shot its wad by killing Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight. Or did they?
"It won't be the Riddler," Nolan told the L.A. Times' Hero Complex. "We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones." He didn't elaborate, although he admitted he and brother (and co-writer) Jonah agreed Mr. Freeze isn't being considered, either. Does that mean Tom Hardy will get to play someone like Dr. Hugo Strange or Victor Zsasz? "Oh, you know me," Nolan said. "I don't talk."
Well, Nolan sure is a master of the slow build. Normally by now you'd be seeing behind-the-scenes videos and leaked footage, but not on one of Christopher's productions. This guy probably moonlights as the warehouse manager where the Ark of the Covenant is stored.
