Robert Downey Jr. injured on set of 'Iron Man 3'
Robert Downey Jr. has been injured on the set of Iron Man 3, but luckily not some hobbling disaster that will keep him sidelined for months on end. Sounds like he just hurt his ankle a little bit.
"Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt," Disney said in a statement, according to the Huffington Post. "There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates."
Downey is reprising his role as one-percenter superhero Tony Stark in the Marvel film. Sir Ben Kingsley stars as the villainous Mandarin, with Gwenyth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Jon Favreau also returning. The film is due in theaters next May, so unless RDJ ripped out some tendons, everything should proceed normally. Those special effects folks have plenty to do, anyway.
