Rodney King arrested for suspected DUI
LAPD beating victim and Celebrity Rehab alum Rodney King was arrested for suspicion of DUI in california Tuesday, the Washington Post reports. Of all the famous people who have traipsed through Pasadena Recovery Center, King was the one we thought was going to make it.
Cops in Moreno Valley, Calif., pulled over the 46-year-old after they saw him commit several traffic violations, the Rivirside County Sheriff's Dept. said. TMZ adds that it was not booze, but marijuana that King is suspected of having used. He was taken to a police station and failed a sobriety test, which got him arrested, the sheriff's dept. said. He was booked on a misdemeanor charge and released on $2,500 bail. Charges from the DA are pending.
King was awarded $3.8 million in a civil suit against the city of Los Angeles after those cops beat him unmercifully in 1991 and then were acquitted. He was the only one who seemed like he was trying to get any better on Dr. Drew Pinsky's show in 2008 -- especially compared to castmate Jeff Conaway, who died in May.
