Rodney King charged with DUI, faces year in jail
Celebrity Rehab alum Rodney King was formally charged Wednesday with driving under the influence after being stopped for allegedly driving erratically in Moreno Valley, Calif., last month. It's gonna be okay, though, because it was medical marijuana, he says.
The Press-Enterprise in San Bernadino County says the 46-year-old was charged with one misdemeanor count of drunken driving and one misdemeanor court of driving under the influence of marijuana for the July 12 stop. His arraignment is set for Friday, the paper says, but he may not appear in court.
This is trouble for King, who has a previous DUI conviction in the county. He was busted for driving under the influence of PCP in 2003, so if he's convicted again, he could get a year in jail. With any luck, Dr. Drew Pinsky will be a character witness.
