Ron Perlman reprises 'Hellboy' for Make-A-Wish Foundation
Finally, some uplifting news: Erstwhile Hellboy Ron Perlman sat in the makeup chair to put on the Right Hand of Doom once again for a little boy being treated for leukemia. Not only did 6-year-old Zachary see Perlman in the flesh, he got to be made up as Hellboy himself, courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Special effects house Spectral Motion said the foundation contacted them about Zachary's request to meet comic-book hero Hellboy, so they "thought it would be fantastic to have Ron Perlman reprise his role for the day," they wrote on Facebook. "Ron loved the idea and donned the makeup once more (with the assistance of Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde) and also ordered a Hellboy sized meal of burgers, shakes, and fries for Zachary and his family and the entire Spectral crew to enjoy.
The effects group had just shown another Make-A-Wish boy named Caleb some of the animatronics used in movies like X-Men: The Last Stand and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, so their Karma Kards are fully punched this month.
