tbd-roseannebarr021611.jpgRoseanne Barr is back to prove she's not just working in Snickers commercials these days -- no, she's getting an entire reality show on Lifetime about running a macadamia nut farm in Hawaii. Did someone just jumble up a bunch of words and get this series out of lottery hopper?

"I'm coming back down to earth, and keeping it real," Barr said in a statement to Deadline.com. "They've said 'Roseanne's nuts' for years, and now I'm going to make that a reality — I'm all about nuts now, macadamia nuts!" The show will follow her, writer-musician boyfriend Johnny Argent and son Jake as they oversee a 40-acre nut farm on the big island. Viewer insanity will no doubt follow that, since 16 episodes have been ordered for 2011.

"Roseanne is funny and brutally-honest, and our audience will relate to her decision to go on this adventure and create an entirely new life for herself," said Nancy Dubuc, Lifetime president and GM. "We are thrilled she will make her long-awaited return to television on Lifetime." We don't think it should qualify as a reality show if all you do is plunk some washed-up, blue-collar hero in a contrived situation and let the cameras roll. But then, it worked for Sarah Palin.
