Russell Armstrong, husband of Real Housewives' Taylor Armstrong, commits suicide
Russell Armstrong, the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong, was found dead of an apparent suicide Monday night. Speculation by the gossip sites say he was distressed over poor finances. He was 47.
"I can confirm that Mr. Armstrong was found dead from an apparent hanging in a residence on Mulholland Drive," the LAPD told People. Authorities responded to a call around 8 p.m. No suicide note was found, and the customary autopsy and toxicology test results are pending to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.
Taylor, 40, had filed for divorce on July 15, citing verbal and physical abuse during their six-year marriage, and they were being sued for $1.5 million for breach of contract by investors who claimed he duped investors into buying shares in his company when he made it sound as if they were buying into a different company.
"I feel bad because his credit cards weren't working ... He had tremendous financial problems," his lawyer, Ronald Richards, told TMZ. "He was also extremely bummed out about the divorce with Taylor. As far as a will, even if he does have a will, they don't have any assets, so I'm not sure what there would be left to leave. I am extremely saddened ... I had no idea he was depressed."
The Armstrongs have a 5-year-old daughter, Kennedy.
