Ryan Seacrest buys Ellen DeGeneres' house for $37 million
Contrary to popular reports that Ryan Seacrest bought Ellen DeGeneres' Beverly Hills estate for $49 million, that's simply not true. No, he actually got it for $37 million. That's a steal, in Coldwater Canyon terms.
The 9,200-square-foot main residence was designed for Manchurian Candidate actor Laurence Harvey years ago, but the property now includes two guesthouses and a separate, three-bedroom house DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi bought and combined over the years, the Hollywood Reporter says. They bought the single home in 2007 from Will & Grace co-creator Max Mutchnick for $29 million.
The home, which also has koi ponds, a swimming pool and its own street. DeGeneres initially listed it for $60 million, but dropped it to $49 million recently. She allegedly received several offers for it. Now all Seacrest needs to do is unload his own Hollywood Hills joint, which is being listed for about $12 million. He's got enough money from NBC to cover the difference.
