Samuel L. Jackson is the highest-grossing actor of all time.
If it's ever seemed like Samuel L. Jackson is in every movie ever made, that makes some sense -- the Gunness Book of World Records has just named him the highest-grossing actor of all time. Take that, Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson and Eddie Murphy and every other actor in Hollywood. Of course, The Juice* thinks every movie would be infinitely better if Sammy J were in it, but we'll just have to dream.
Guinness says over the course of his lengthy career, Jackson's movies have grossed -- wait for it -- $7.42 billion, according to the New York Daily News. Yes, even 1998's Sphere. The paper notes the 62-year-old has starred in more than 100 movies since his breakout role as crackhead Gator Purify in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever in 1991.
His big-time launchpad after that, of course, was Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, but The Juice* will never forget his most stupendous role, in B-movie awesomefest Deep Blue Sea in 1999. That's the one where you think he'll be the big star, but he gets eaten by the shark halfway through so Thomas Jane and LL Cool J can steal the spotlight. Oops, spoiler alert. Well, that had to be good for a few bucks, anyway. Those awful Star Wars movies probably didn't hurt, either.
