Selena Gomez says she'd 'have two children by now' if she wasn't famous
The media machine for the locally shot Spring Breakers is heating up, so that's why you're going to see Selena Gomez everywhere in the next couple months. First up is Glamour, where she say sshe sure is glad she's famous, because her life would be a mess otherwise. No offense, mom.
"I definitely didn't appreciate (my upbringing) when I was little. I was frustrated that my parents weren't together and never saw the light at the end of the tunnel where my mom was working hard to provide a better life for me," the 20-year-old told the mag about growing up with a single mom in Texas. "I'm terrified of what I would have become if I'd stayed there. I'm sure I'd have two children by now."
That would normally sound like a shot at mom Mandy, who raised Selena on her own after parents divorced when she was 5, not to mention alienating her Texas fans, but Gomez covers for it real quick.
"I love the people, and I'm glad I grew up there," she said. "It's because of (my mom) that I can do things on my own. I like being professional. I like showing up on time. I like being good to people, and I know that I'm reflecting her at the end of the day."
