Seth MacFarlane records a role for 'The Simpsons'

Family Guy creator and future Academy Awards host Seth MacFarlane has spent so much time stealing things from The Simpsons, he's finally done the inevitable: He's recorded a guest role on the perennial Fox programming anchor. Gee, we wonder if he's going to sing.

MacFarlane plays a man Marge meets on a website she mistakes for a baking forum. While she's planning to make cupcakes, he's planning to cheat on his wife, who is voiced by foul-mouthed insult comic Lisa Lampanelli. Hilarity -- and a MacFarlane rendition of The Way You Look Tonight -- ensues.

"We thought we had a great part that he'd be perfect for, and it would be great to have him on our show, so it worked out just right," Simpsons executive producer Al Jean said, E! reports. "There's been a little rivalry. We're both humor shows and we make jokes, but it's always been friendly." That's the kind of attitude you can take when your animated show has been in business more than 25 seasons.
