Shakira gives birth to a baby boy in Spain
Multi-lingual supergenius Latina pop star Shakira and her footie husband Gerard Piqué got some happy news on Tuesday, because their son was born in Spain. Thankfully she was gracious enough to provide all the details the very same day on her website. That's why she's on The Juice* A-list for celebrities who only give us good news.
"We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain," a post on Shakira.com read. "The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification. Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth. The hospital confirmed that the couple’s first child weighed approximately 6lbs. 6 ounces, and that both mother and child are in excellent health."
Well, if dad plays for Barca, we don't understand why they gave him the same name as hated Italian club AC Milan. We guess it only matters during Euro Cup and Champions League matches. Photos are sure to come soon, so stay tuned.
