Sharon Osbourne says IRS lien has been paid
Earlier this week we told you that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne owed the IRS $1.7 million in back taxes, and it looked like curtains for them. What are we, nuts? They've already paid off the bill, and now want to find out how the mess got started to begin. We'd be concerned if we suddenly had an IRS lien we didn't know about, too.
"At 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon I received a phone call from my publicist who had a reporter on the other line informing her that the IRS had just put a lien on one of our properties," Osbourne said in an exclusive statement Thursday to Perez Hilton about the action taken on one of their L.A. properties. "I then contacted my accountant who said they knew nothing about any lien. The lien has been paid. I do intend to find out how this lien happened without the knowledge of myself or my accountants. I hope none of this reflects negatively on mine and Ozzy's moral character."
After a career like Ozzy's there's very little that could still reflect poorly on his character. If we were whoever overlooked this, or even stole from the couple to swipe that money, we would be afraid of Ozzy biting our head off, though.
