Simon Cowell says he may quit 'American Idol'
You don't even have to be a fan of American Idol to realize that Simon Cowell is an outsized jerkface who suffers from acute swelling of the ego, but guess what? He might be leaving the show. Aw, really, that's a shame.
In an interview with the U.K.'s Mirror, Cowell says he's oh-so-busy and hey, the Yanks suck (meaning Americans, not the New York Yankees, although that's true, too).
“Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of traveling. One may have to go,” Simon, um, says. “I don’t know which one. That is the problem, I like all of them. I can’t imagine not doing Britain’s Got Talent and I can’t imagine not doing X Factor. But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end.”
As if that's not enough, he continues to whine about all his work and money and fame as the global economy craters and laid-off workers are scrambling through Dumpsters for peach pits.
“I don’t want to come over as whiney because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs,” he said. “But there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up. It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them, and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows a year, with the record label and the TV production company.”
Aww, driving Bugattis, dating models and making something like $40 million a year is so difficult! Good thing he says he has plans for a "big new show next year" to replace us.
