Slayer's Jeff Hanneman sidelined with flesh-eating spider bite
We have room for one more crazy happening today, so we could either write about El Debarge entering rehab, or Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman having to leave the band's tour because he has a flesh-eating disease. We think you know which way we're going to vote on that one.
The band has had to pull out of some of their live shows because Hanneman has come down with necrotizing fasciitis, which was apparently caused by a spider bite. He will be replaced by a guest guitarist for the remainder of the dates he's going to miss, MusicRadar.com says.
"After everything that's happened we all agreed that we just can't let our fans down again," bandmate Kerry King said in a statement. "Jeff is totally onboard with the decision, so we will tour as planned. We can't pinpoint what day he'll be back, but it will be as soon as he possibly can."
Meanwhile, can you think of a more metal way to go down than by spider bite? Aside from being eaten by a dragon or dying in a drag race, that is.
