Sofia Vergara discusses boyfriend Nick Loeb's political future
Because we're desperate for any news not Charlie Sheen-related these days, we have to go all the way back to Sunday's SAG Awards red carpet to hear that Modern Family's Sofia Vergara may soon be making a few campaign stops in the Sunshine State, now that boyfriend Nick Loeb has recovered from that horrible car crash last year.
We just saw that Extra's Mario Lopez was fawning over the 37-year-old before the ceremony (imagine that) when he brought up Loeb considering running for office: "He was a politician before in Florida, before I met him," Vergara told Lopez (watch it above). "So, you know, maybe now he'll think about it again. But it's just planning and things. ... People are coming to him, but nothing serious yet."
We should note that it may likely remain nothing serious, because while Nick's a trust-fund baby whose dad, John Langeloth Loeb, Jr., was ambassador to Denmark under Ronald Reagan, the 34-year-old has lost or withdrawn from every race in which he's ever campaigned, according to the Palm Beach Post. He previously ran for Florida Senate District 5 and Delray Beach City Commissioner, but neither panned out. He's still an improvement over Sofia's ex, Miami mafioso Chris Paciello.
As for being a possible future first lady, Vergara responded, "I'm already a first lady ... in his heart." Awwwww, she already knows how to create top-notch soundbites.
