Sofia Vergara is highest-paid woman on television
Not only did Sofia Vergara just have a birthday and get engaged to Nick Loeb (though that's technically still unconfirmed), she's also topped the Forbes list of highest-paid actresses on television. Plus, we get to run a photo of Sofia Vergara, so everyone wins.
The magazine says her Modern Family paycheck and earnings from her media company LatinWE between May 2011 and May 2012 combine to total $19 million. She has more on the way this year, too, with endorsement deals in English and Spanish topping $12 million, plus an advance on her clothing line from Kmart that amounts to $7 million through 2012. Wow, Kmart had $7 million?
Luckily, she just edged out no-talent Kim Kardashian, who has somehow turned a nasty porn tape into an $18 million a year empire. Eva Longoria is third, translating the last season of Desperate Housewives and other business deals into $15 million. Skinnygirl mogul Bethenny Frankel turned her Gizmo face into $12 million. At No. 5 is Kim's sister Khloe, who turned a failed reality show spinoff about her benchriding NBA hubby Lamar Odom into $11 million.
Bossypants comedian Tina Fey also scored $11 million, so we're sure she'll have something to say about tying Khloe Kardashian. Rounding out the top 12 is Law and Order: SVU's Mariska Hargitay ($10 million); New Girl actress Zooey Deschanel ($9 million); Felicity Huffman (also $9 million); Ellen Pompeo (again, also $9 million); Soon-to-be-leaving Private Practice star Kate Walsh ($8 million); and Teri Hatcher (scoring $8 million, as well). They should really round these salaries up or something.
