For some reason, Columbia thinks Hanks is worth $49-million
The buzz around Hollywood these days is once again around Tom Hanks, who -- when not playing a borderline mental case, AIDS victim or endangered astronaut -- is going to get paid to the tune of $29-million to as high as $49-million to star in Angels & Demons, the follow-up to The Da Vinci Code. World Entertainment News Network says Columbia Pictures has agreed to pile up the greenbacks after shelling out $25-million to Hanks for the first movie. This will make him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood history, topping Jim Carrey, who got $39-million for The Cable Guy. And we know how good that movie was.
