Sony working on a sequel to Angelina Jolie's 'Salt'
After Angelina Jolie gets done with that trouble-plagued Bosnian war chronicle In the Land of Blood and Honey, she'll have to follow her usual pattern of making a popcorn movie to continue to pay for her award-bait pet projects. So get ready for a sequel to Salt, is what I'm saying.
Kurt Wimmer has begun a script for a sequel to the original, in which Jolie played a CIA agent on the lam after being outed as a Russian spy and absconded with $300 million in global box office receipts. Deadline.com says Sony is ready to get its beak wet on that action, which should start production as soon as Angelina signs off, which she said she'd do if the story was right.
Salt was an okay movie, and certainly better than Wanted. The good news here, however, is that Universal's plan for a Wanted sequel hasn't panned out, so we don't have to worry about that. Angie's fake tattoo, though, that part was cool.
