South Beach hotel drops $2,000-per-night 'Jersey Shore' suite
The cast of Jersey Shore sure have worn out their welcome on South Beach, but not because of their ridiculous, self-aggrandizing antics. Mostly, it's because the mouth-breathers who like that show don't have any money.
Metropole hotel has decided to ditch plans to let people rent the group's second season apartment, figuring that your average Jersey Shore fan couldn't afford a $2,000 a night place to stay. They might be on to something; After all, you've got to wonder who'd go to South Beach just to see where Snooki , J-Woww and The Situation tussled at an Ocean Drive bar and worked at a Collins Avenue gelato shop.
"Most of the people who would want to stay in the Jersey Shore house couldn't afford it,'' Nathan Lieberman, whose family owns the hotel, told the Miami Herald. "It's just business."
