Spider-Man reboot will be directed by Marc Webb
We told you a week ago that Spider-Man was getting the reboot already, but now Sony Pictures has tapped (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb to replace Sam Raimi, and may be talking to that movie's star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, to replace Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Also The Juice* will be rebooting as a Spanish-language culture column call El Jugo (no, not really).
Webb played it cool in a BBC report, saying he couldn't replace Raimi because "that would be impossible, not to mention arrogant. I'm here because there's an opportunity for ideas, stories and histories that will add a new dimension, canvas and creative voice to Spider-Man," he said.
Apparently that new dimension will be focusing on the superhero's early years. Call us crazy, but isn't that what Spider-Man 1 through 3 were doing?
