Spoiled 'Wife Swap' teen sues ABC for $100 million
Eighteen-year-old beauty queen Alicia Guastaferro, the overwhelmingly spoiled brat child of a family that participated on a 2008 episode of Wife Swap, is suing ABC and Disney over allegedly staging scenes to "maximize (Alicia's) public embarrassment," the New York Daily News says. Hey, they didn't make her say "I do feel sorry for people that are not gorgeous people."
The suit claims producers made up scenes in which her dad spray tans her legs, her mom does her homework and they have a Christmas tree up all year because parents Karen and Ralph believe in giving her a gift every single day, which the suit denies. Too bad the video above shows Karen telling a western New York TV station that no, really, she does.
"If you don't have the best clothes, the best hair and makeup and the best tan, you're not gonna win the pageant," Alicia said on the show. She also boasts how she doesn't have to do chores, and how popular she is. She is now claiming she got death threats after the episode aired and had to transfer schools. She says she still suffers panic attacks and suicidal tendencies.
The sticking point: While Karen agreed to be on the show for $20,000, Alicia never did, despite blathering away on camera as if nothing was wrong with what she was saying. That makes us afraid that once again she will get whatever she wants.
