Stalker breaks into Madonna's home in London
Madonna is still popular enough to warrant stalkers, as a 29-year-old Polish citizen was arrested Saturday for trying to break into her London home, the latest since a knife-wielding freak was busted outside her Manhattan apartment last September. At least he didn't get shot like that guy who tried to get into her place in Hollywood in 1996.
The U.K.'s Sun says Grsegorz Matlok was busted inside her Georgian townhouse around 5:30 a.m.after he smashed a window and climbed inside. Madonna herself was in Bay City, Mich., with kids Lourdes, Mercy, Rocco and David because her grandmother, Elsie May Fortin had died that week at age 99. Matlok was arraigned Monday.
Security told the cops the guy had been stalking her before, adding to police concerns -- about her bodyguards: "Something dreadful has happened here. The security around the world's most famous pop star should be impregnable," a cop source told the paper. True, but she wasn't even home. If that break-in had occurred in Florida, you can bet dollars to dance moves he would have been castle-lawed faster than you can say "don't shoot."
