Stallone pleads guilty to drugging up Australia

Tbdstallone051607 Muscle-bound actor Sylvester Stallone pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Sydney court for bringing beefcake-building hormones into the country, the AP says. He faces sentencing next Monday.

The 60-year-old’s lawyers entered the plea on his behalf, tendering a statement from Stallone that said, “I made a terrible mistake, not because I was attempting to deceive anyone but I was simply ignorant to your official rules.”

Stallone had shrugged off the Feb. 16 incident, in which airport officials found 48 vials of the human growth hormone product Jintropin. His lawyers said he was taking the drug for medical reasons, but didn’t elaborate.

He faces an $18,000 fine on two charges because his case is being heard by a local, and not federal, court. Otherwise, he’d be staring down a $91,500 fine and five years in prison!
