'Star Wars' plot rumors, Marvel female rulers, 'Avatar' courtroom furor
-- Ain't It Cool News, which so often has an uncanny knack for getting these things right, says Disney's first standalone Star Wars movie (not the next trilogy, mind you) will focus on Yoda. Whether that's the stupid CGI Yoda or the awesome puppet Yoda is still up for debate.
-- More women are headed to the next round of Marvel movies, with Rebecca Hall already playing the foil to Tony Stark in Iron Man 3 and Emily VanCamp slated to be S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Slate notes. It's almost like they plan on writing stories with females that don't need to be rescued!
-- After just winning a similar lawsuit last year, James Cameron won out in court over writer Gerald Morawski's claim that Avatar was ripped off from a 1991 pitch called Guardians of Eden, with a judge citing "clear, undisputed evidence" the movie was Cameron's original idea, Deadline.com reports. Now all he has to do is prove the storyline's not stolen from Dances With Wolves, Ferngully, The Matrix, any movie with space marines and The Smurfs.
