Stephen Moyer auctioning 'sock of destiny' for charity
True Blood's Stephen Moyer may have just married Anna Paquin, but that doesn't mean you can't get a disgustingly TMI piece of his action. That's right, he's auctioning off his "sock of destiny," the modesty piece he uses on set during his many nude scenes, as part of a competition with Alex Skarsgard to see who can raise the most money. We can really see Bill's total rising with this one.
"This piece of fabric is used when filming nude scenes so that the man's dangling parts are secured," the eBay auction description reads. "Moyer has mentioned the sock in many interviews and the sock has become a staple in most of the interviews with the cast. This is your chance to own this extremely rare item.* ... Stephen did not say whether the sock had been used or not ... we're not asking." He will sign the codpiece for the winner, however, so you've got until Saturday to raise the $600 or so the item is currently calling for.
The actors' so-called Battle of the Fang has been running since June 13 and has raised more than $30,000 for Moyer's GulfAid and Skarsgard's SOS Children's Villages. The actor who has raised the most money gets to donate the sum to his charity, and have photos taken of them wearing t-shirts designed by the winner. Other items sold for the race, which ends Sept. 12, include signed scripts, DVDs and the like, but this is easily the manliest prize of them all.
