Steve Carell says he's leaving 'The Office' after next season
All you Dunder Mifflin wannabes can start cashing in your Schrute Bucks if this one turns out to be true: Steve Carell told BBC Radio that he thinks next season may be his last on The Office. How will Scranton survive without him?
Carell said in an interview that his contract with NBC runs through next season, which would be the show's seventh. When the interviewer asked if he'd stay after that, he replied, "I don't think so. I think that will probably be my last year." That's almost as bad as Alec Baldwin saying he'll leave 30 Rock when his contract is up. Almost.
Sites like Entertainment Weekly are speculating that this is simply a negotiating tactic to get the network to offer him more money to stay. But then, after Jim and Pam got married there was no reason to really keep watching. Now the show will just become episode after episode of mind-numbing, soul-crushing repetitive boredom. Kinda like your actual office.
