Steven Spielberg wants to reboot 'Jurassic Park'
You can hear that trailer voice over guy already: In a world, full of terrible ideas ... comes one of the worst: Rebooting Jurassic Park. That's right. Time to run for cover, folks.
The Hollywood Reporter says none other than Steven Spielberg has begun exploring ideas for how to bring the dinosaurs back to life -- again. The famed director and producer has begun talking to screenwriter Mark Protosevich about how to redo Michael Crichton's sci-fi thrillride. That's what happens when you make $915 million with the 1993 original.
THR stresses that no plans are concrete, and nothing has been commissioned, but when one of the most powerful men in Hollywood starts talking to the guy who wrote The Cell and Poseidon, plus worked on I Am Legend and Thor about rebooting a Tinseltown classic, you'd better fear the worst. Protosevich and Spielberg already tried to adapt Chan-wook Park's revenge tale Oldboy into a Will Smith vehicle and that didn't work out, so stand back.
