Surprise! They're not dead
What do Aaron Carter and Charlie Sheen have in common? Seemingly nothing, other than they're both alive and (we hope) well after reports of their deaths circulated over the Christmas holiday. The culprit, once again, was Twitter. First came news of Carter's death on Thursday, reportedly of a drug overdose. His manager, Johnny Wright, told E! Online that Carter was "alive and well at my compound in Orlando, rehearsing for a New Year's show." (Compound? Who does he think he is, Lou Pearlman?) Carter also Tweeted from his official account Friday morning that "... I'm Here, Alive & Well. At the compound Working on my mind & soul." Meanwhile, with that rumor fully squashed, Sheen's demise -- reportedly in a snowboarding accident -- started making the Twitter rounds on Sunday. Ex-wife Denise Richards, with whom Sheen has two daughters, took time to clear things up, reported the New York Daily News. "the rumor about Charlie Sheen is not true. He is alive and on his way over to see his daughters. Thank u all your concern (sic)."
