Target yanks card making fun of Whitney Houston
Target stores are eradicating all evidence of a sense of humor by pulling a greeting card that makes fun of Whitney Houston's mutually destructive relationship with Bobby Brown. This probably means they'll get rid of their Lindsay Lohan-branded "Congratulations on completing rehab" card, too.
The offending stationary, which was already in stores prior to Houston's Feb. 11 death, read "Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston. That's all I'm going to say." The AP reports the chain starting removing the cards as soon as someone complained about it. "It is never our intent to offend guests with the products we offer, and we take feedback from guests very seriously," the company said in a statement.
Aw, what fun is that? That card's truer now than ever before. Why is it this kind of stuff gets addressed, but when we complain about the soft white LED Christmas lights not being restocked, we never gettin any response? Perhaps we should start saying those lights got arrested for buying crack, so Target will pay more attention.
