TLC cancels Kate Gosselin's reality show, 'Kate Plus 8'
If you thought the news that AMC is renewing Breaking Bad for a final 16 episodes was good news wait 'til you hear this: TLC has finally canceled Kate Gosselin's TV show, which means The Juice* can mention her name one last time. That's what it takes to get you off the banned list, you know.
"TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8," the network told Entertainment Weekly in a statement Monday. "By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future." Oh, yes, please do update us on that family. Think of all the episodes of Intervention!
Kate responded to this news with eleventy billion tweets via @Kateplusmy8, some of which read, "While it is very sad for me and the kids (there were many tears at the breakfast table this morning!), we are looking forward with great anticipation to our bright future! As is very typical for me, I am choosing to see the positive in this situation and I am excited to consider many more invigorating opportunities that may come my way!" Like the inevitable talk show rounds and subsequent book deals, no doubt. But still! No more Kate Gosselin on TLC!
