Tom Cruise gets first $72k Ducati superbike
As if millions of dollars, Katie Holmes and (according to the Church of Scientology) control over the minds of millions weren’t enough toys, Tom Cruise is getting his hands on a choice motorcycle courtesy of Italian company Ducati.
The brand-new, 200 hp, 200 mph Desmosedici RR, based on the manufacturer’s Moto GP bike (think Formula 1 for motorcycles), is headed to Beverly Hills Ducati this week, the AP reports. Only 1,500 of the trademark red-and-white superbikes are being made, and Tommy Gun gets the very first one.
“We are delighted to be able to deliver the world’s first production unit here in the USA to Tom Cruise, who is a well-known Ducati enthusiast,” said Michael Lock, chief of Cupertino-based Ducati North America.
The rest of you better have put your $72,500 down for the magnesium, titanium and carbon fiber beauty, or else you’ll just be reading about it in magazines like The Juice* does.
